Private Records Program
The scope and breadth of the Private Records Program include personal papers of individuals regardless of background or occupation, records of business, religious, artistic, organizational, community and cultural life.
These include records related to:
- Resource development
- Petroleum and natural gas industry
- Transportation
- Military
- Agricultural and urban development
- Sports and cultural communities and organizations
- Science
- Manufacturing
- Legal
- Education
Records from local public bodies, such as Municipalities, Universities, Schools and Hospitals are also the responsibility of the Private Records program. These include the records of school boards, health care boards, post-secondary institutions and municipalities.
Municipality, Universities, Schools and Hospitals records housed at the PAA are subject to the FOIP Act which governs the accessibility of some records. Please contact the PAA's Access Archivist to access records required for a FOIP request.
