An insight into trade and commerce

Starting in 1883, the Government of the Northwest Territories required the registration of a declaration of business partnerships in local districts. Ledgers of partnerships provide evidence of the names of partners and the types of business activity in a region at a particular time. Registering partnerships in local judicial districts ended in 1968 with the formation of a Central Registry in Edmonton.
